| At least 100 Indonesian schools needed in Malaysia |
| Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News) - Visiting Vice President Jusuf Kalla said he estimated that at least 100 schools are needed in Malaysia for around 36,000 Indonesian children in the country. "There are around 36,000 Indonesian children in Malaysia. If a school can accommodate 300 to 500 students, then we will need about 100 schools," the Indonesian vice president told newsmen here on Thursday. Kalla said a number of Indonesian teachers would be sent to Malaysia in the new education year which starts in June and July. According to Kalla, an agreement has been reached in his meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi that the Indonesian schools in Malaysia can be opened as soon as possible. |
